About the July 2021 issue
The July 2021 issue of Career Ahead opens with a cover feature by global business leader Dejan Stancer, who examines business in a rapidly globalizing world. He argues that being globally connected is no longer an option but a necessity for success, while acknowledging that globalization also brings problems. In changed circumstances, he writes, countries need economic growth, and neighboring countries are often best suited to deepen cooperation, which makes strong political relations important. Stancer describes his work in Slovenia and the idea he developed in 2013 for economic cooperation with Kazakhstan, where trade was low and potential seemed untapped. He founded the Kazakh-Slovenian Business Club. At first no one wanted to join, official institutions in both countries opposed the club, and a co-founder stole a large part of its funds. With generous non-financial help from friends in Kazakhstan, the club began to build normal structures. Through effort, especially from his co-workers, it grew, gained members, and signed an agency agreement with the main investment company of the Government of Kazakhstan to become its official branch in Slovenia and the wider region. Stancer’s advice is never to give up, because perseverance pays off.
The issue also features an exclusive Q&A with Olympian and India’s top-ranking women’s tennis player Ankita Raina, who shares her journey and aspirations.
Beyond these highlights, the magazine covers the thriving gig economy and the future of retail. It also looks at the world of fintech and online gaming. Published as the Olympic spirit sweeps the globe, the issue champions excellence, unity, and aspiration.
