On a February morning at AICTE’s headquarters in New Delhi, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) took a significant step to enhance student employability. Seven private companies signed Memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with AICTE to upskill, reskill, and place millions of engineering and management students nationwide. This marks a shift from traditional curriculum design to a collaborative model that integrates industry expertise into higher education.

Chairman Prof. (Dr.) T G Sitharam emphasized the need for contemporary skills, stating, “We must equip our students for a changing world.” His remarks reflect a growing concern: the rapid pace of digital transformation has made many traditional programs outdated, widening the gap between graduate skills and employer expectations.

To implement this partnership, AICTE will launch two digital platforms: the National Internship Portal and the Placement Portal Online Bureau. These tools will connect student profiles with real-time job openings, bridging the gap between graduation and employment.

Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), highlighted that “technological literacy and upskilling are vital for future success.” By focusing on skill acquisition and certification, AICTE aims to create a scalable model applicable across various fields.

Medini Technologies, Predictive Analysis Solutions Pvt Ltd, Risesharp Technologies Pvt Ltd, and Acetians Technologies Pvt Ltd

These companies cover emerging fields like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, predictive modeling, and product design, ensuring students learn about cutting-edge technologies.
