SINE, IIT Bombay Signs a MoU with Microsoft

SINE (The Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), the umbrella organization at IIT Bombay that fosters entrepreneurship and nurtures tech startups, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft to empower and support the upcoming SINE startups.

With this collaboration, SINE and Microsoft aim to explore multiple opportunities to aid the startups at SINE and provide better resources for them. These startups will also have the opportunity to avail themselves of the benefits of Microsoft’s software and services and will also have access to GitHub, M365 resources, training, and skill enhancement on Azure, as well as mentor networks.

This is a great opportunity for the IIT Bombay students, as under this partnership they will get access to Microsoft leadership, industry experts, Microsoft valuable professionals (MVPs), Azure influencers, and startup founders.

“With more and more focus shifting towards cloud-based technology and solutions across different sectors, Microsoft’s history and experience as the leading global technology giant will surely benefit our startups, and we hope they can leverage this partnership to the fullest,” said Poyni Bhat, the Chief Executive Officer of SINE.

Himani Agarwal, the Country Head of Azure at Microsoft India, says, “The Microsoft Azure platform hosts a wide array of products and cloud services that can help startups solve today’s challenges and design solutions for the future.” “We are thrilled to collaborate with SINE and IIT Bombay to empower startups to harness the power of the cloud, enabling them to turn meaningful innovation into actionable results.”

Along with the access benefits, the startups that will get selected to Founder’s Hub by the two institutions will also have the opportunity to be a part of the Azure community program, another ongoing developer campaign by Microsoft, like the Azure Developer League, Azure Blogathon, Hackathons, Open Hacks, and Imagine Cup, which will be a huge opportunity for them.
